Music composed for a visual / audio exhibit by Anny and Sibel Öztürk which took place in Frankfurt and Tel Aviv in the Spring of 2022

Focussing on the theme of home, featuring an extensive collection of collages, on paper, as well as in the form of sculptures, paintings and drawings. Objects from the household of the deceased mothers of two friends served as the creative starting point for works which, though without a specific thematic focus, are deeply routed in personal memory.

Anny and Sibel Öztürk’s “Unspeakable Home“ spiritually roots in a soundscape entitled “Home“, 2021, that Steve Jansen composed for the artists. The music performs as a third voice alongside the artworks. It enriches the artistic range of the exhibition consolidating the atmospheric approach of the project’s narrative. While frugal in its use of spatial acoustic effects, the music generates a sound setting that supports the structuring of the framing narrative of Anny and Sibel Öztürk’s installations.
